Generic Key Words
Mrs Hughes has provided the meanings of the following Generic Key Words:
Analyse – to separate into parts and study it
Communicate – to effectively express information (verbally, in writing or visually)
Compare – to examine two or more things in order to note similarities/differences
Contrast - to examine two or more things to note the differences only
Cooperate – to work together for a common purpose or goal
Create – to develop a thought or idea using your knowledge and imagination
Deduce - draw a logical conclusion
Describe –to draw a picture using written or spoken words
Demonstrate – to describe, illustrate or instruct providing examples
Explain – to make something plain and clear; to provide a meaning for something.
Evaluate – use evidence to provide a judgement of the quality of someone or something
Identify – to find and recognise or acknowledge something (provide a list of key features)
Imply - hint or strongly suggest something.
Improve – to increase the value of or make something better
Justify – to provide reasons that support a point or opinion
Opinion – a personal view, belief or attitude
Reflect - consider or think about something.
Summarise - sum up or review the evidence in brief
